Bradford City FC Disability Player nominated for 2018 Bradford Sports Awards

Carter Roberts a dedicated young footballer who plays for Bradford City Disability FC has been nominated as Young Disability Sportsperson of the Year at Bradford Sports Awards 2018 which is to be hosted at Bradford City’s Coral Stadium in March.

Carter has global development delay and when he was 1 year old he was unable to sit unaided and required intensive physio.  When he started pre-school he bottom shuffled and walked with a frame, he required a specialist chair, boots and a buggy for any distance.  He started at Cullingworth Primary (who nominated him for this award) he still required his frame, a changing table and buggy.  PE & games which was assumed would be his hardest subject ended up being is favourite one! He loves nothing more than participating in sports.

At the age of 8 he began playing disability football and before he was 10 was playing for three teams including Bradford City Disability FC, his parents have had to stop one of the teams as there is not enough hours in the day.  Nothing stops Carter he will try anything, he has a can do attitude, and enjoys the challenge.  Good Luck from all of us at Bradford City!
