Formed 4 years ago, Yorkshire St. Pauli (a fan club for German 2nd Division team, FC St. Pauli), utilised their pre-existing links with a local refugee charity (PAFRAS) to reduce the social and economic barriers faced by Refugees and Asylum Seekers and started the “Football For All” weekly football session.

In the spring of 2017, in partnership with the energy firm SSE, The FA launched a pilot programme called SSE Wildcats. Created to contribute towards The FA target of doubling female participation, SSE Wildcats centres offer sessions for the novice girl aged 5-11 with the emphasis on fun, friends and fitness. 199 centres were created across the country with 12 in West Riding, the highest of any County FA.
